Jungle Safari In Nepal

Nepal provides shelter to over 30 species of large wild animals and approximately 180 species of mammals. You can view tropical wildlife in jungle. Among the famed wil dlife here are rhino, Royal Bengal tiger, deer crocodile, snow leopard, red panda, Himalayan lack bear and many other beasts are found in Nepal's jungles. Nepal is also a haven for birds and over 800 species. Nepal has nearly as many bird species as the whole of North America. In alpine preserves closer to the high mountains, snow leopard, musk deer, snow pheasants etc. can be viewed. A vast variety of plant life also can be enjoyed. Fourteen percent of Nepal's land area is preserved as wildlife or national parks Region around world's highest peak Mt. Everest is also designated as national park

Chitwan National Park:
The Park lies on the center of the country, Chitwan, which is also the junction for separating the eastern highway from the western highway of Nepal. Chitwan National Park is also UNESCO enlisted World Heritage Site. The Park specializes in balance the need for habitat between the wild animals & their human counterparts who’ve settle within the parts of the jungle. The Park has also received praises for breeding endangered wild beasts like the tiger, elephant, & rhinos. Chitwan is a tropical forest, and Nepal one major river system, the Gandaki flows right through it. The river not only waters the land, quenches the wild thirst, but also homes rare aquatic creatures like crocodile & freshwater dolphins. The combination of aquatic & terrestrial wildlife in a tropical climate makes the Park truly a microcosm of the African continent. Among the tourists, the favorite wild game is an elephant safari rides with an aim of encountering the big cats & shooting the deadly beasts – with the camera of course.

Bardiya National Park:
Although not as famous as the Chitwan Park, but Katherine preferred to visit Bardiya National Park on the western Nepal because of the latter’s truly wild settings. For Bardiya, you need to fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj & then head toward the Park on a jeep or bus. The roadway from Kathmandu to Bardiya takes almost one whole day to cross which many find rather boring. Bardiya is also a tropical park sharing its habitat with the India jungles & their beasts. Katherine writes a fascinating account of a chase by the Asamese Wild Bull Elephant during her safari on a native & tamed female elephant. Both Chitwan & Bardiya Parks have excellent accommodation facilities.

Besides, Chitwan & Bardiya, Kosi Tappu on the eastern Terai is also famous for jungle visits & bird watching.
